There are a few major points to remember when cleaning your shotgun…
1. Wipe it down with paper towels or a cloth, getting all carbon buildup, unburnt powder, and old oil off, paying special detail to the ejector port and chamber.
2. Get a good quality solvent, and be generous with it. Spray all areas that move, and have powder residue.
3. Using a soft bristle brush (I use old toothbrushes) scrub the entire gun, loosening all dirt.
4. Wipe it down with a clean rag, paying attention to any areas that leave dirt on the rag.
5. Swab the barrel with solvent soaked pads… Next, scrub it with the appropriate ga./cal. Brush., and then send clean swabs thru until they come out of the bore CLEAN.
Next, lubricate and gently wipe excess oil off all moving parts.
