We can see thru the smoke…

When it comes right down to it, how much did the gun control advocates actually know about firearms and ammunition? Obviously, not as much as we know at our shop! If they want to sit in their well decorated offices, drawing up laws for the law-abiding citizen to follow, shouldn’t they know what they’re writing about? Many of our public officeholders have no idea about firearms or ammunition, but stand fast when they have an opinion on them. They can be seen with such conviction during interviews on the news about how we should regulate guns.

Recently, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) was asked a very simple question, “What is a barrel shroud?”  Hint: it is what those words say it is. This question was famously lobbed at her, to which she answered after a lengthy diversion, “I actually don’t know what it is.” EXACTLY!!! She wants to regulate something that she actually knows nothing about!

In fact, on her website, McCarthy states that hollow-point bullets are “cop-killers”, and not only easily defeat body armor, they also explode. They’re explosive! If that’s not a total misunderstanding, then it’s propaganda, which is even worse.

More recently, Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) demonstrated that she “didn’t even understand how magazines work”, yet, she wants to regulate them! How can you regulate something you know NOTHING about?

“I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.” Can you rationalize the statements of this woman? Neither can I…

But, this story does get even BETTER!  DeGette’s spokeswoman, Juliet Johnson, issued a statement claiming the Congresswoman ‘simply misspoke’.

Juliet Johnson had this to say: “The Congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years and has been deeply involved in the issue; she simply misspoke in referring to ‘magazines’ when she should have referred to ‘clips,’ which cannot be reused because they don’t have a feeding mechanism.” Are you kidding me????

Stripper clips can be reloaded, and are used often, to reload magazines. That’s what they’re made for. The Representative may have learned this if someone told her that most clips hold five to 10 rounds, , not at all like the “assault magazines” that she wants to ban…

Another gaffe was VP Joe Biden’s infamous “Get a shotgun” advice to a young female at a ‘town hall’ type meeting, which included illegally discharging two warning shots into the air above an intruder’s head. Would you really want THIS man holding a firearm? Not me…

The President would never make such an ill-informed statement. Remember, he “skeet-shoots all the time.” Even President Obama incorrectly stated that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter used a ‘fully-automatic rifle’. The shooter did not. In fact, it was proven that the ‘assault weapon’ supposedly used NEVER even made it into the building!

But one of the funniest yet, was Senator Kevin De Leon. He has invented a whole new product, called the .”30 caliber magazine clip”. It MUST be a great product, because according to him, it can make a semi automatic rifle fire 30 bullets in ½ second! Now, the only firearm I know of that has a cyclic rate CLOSE to that is an Electric mini gun, and it has 6 barrels!  “This is a ghost gun,” De Leon begins, holding an unloaded rifle in his hands. “This right here has the ability with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second.” There is no such thing as a “30-caliber clip” in the context of which he is speaking. He clearly is referring to a 30-round magazine. An ammunition magazine is different than a “clip,” but the two are often confused by those not familiar with guns. And though it’s obvious, there is also no such thing as a “30 magazine clip.”

Almost nothing can top a statement made by Sacramento City Councilwoman Sandy Sheedy. She is quoted as saying that “people get shot all the time by unloaded guns”. Uh huh… All the time…

Of course, you don’t have to be a politician to make the blunder…. In an interview, Chris Cillizza, an MSNBC political analyst, argued his point…Well, let’s see if you can UNDERSTAND his point by his statement…

“Eventually — Okay, let’s say assault weapons or let’s say these high-caliber — these high-pack rounds — if they do that, what will they do next.” We’re not even sure what they want to do first.” Did anything he said make sense to you??

At the least, these ‘experts’ provide the knowledgeable firearm owners with some great comical relief! I know we got some laughs! Could you imagine if they ever heard of ‘slide fire stocks’ ?
