Ammunition is still pretty scarce, but here at SL gun shop, in Mason, New Hampshire, we do have a fair amount of ammunition in stock. We may not have everything, so give us a call before you come out just to be sure what you need is in stock. Just as other gun shops in New Hampshire, our shelves have been bare more often than not this year. It has been a definite challenge keeping ammunition in stock in NH.
Manufacturers are doing everything they can to meet the high demand for bullets, which have been “all fueled by rumors and conjecture” and have put pressure on gun stores across the country.
“The current political climate has caused extremely high demand on all shooting industry products, including ammunition producers. Empty retail shelves, long backorders, and exaggerated price increases on online auction sites have amplified concerns about the availability of ammunition and firearms-related items.
When will the supply of ammunition return?
Ammunition manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the run on ammunition that began in the wake of President Barack Obama’s re-election and the the push by the anti gun lobbyists to ban ‘high capacity’ magazines and semi automatic tactical rifles.
Every time there’s a comment about some sort of gun control, that triggers a negative response among firearms owners, because they see it as a limiting factor. The law of supply and demand kicks in, and responsible gun owners’ stockpile. The demand breeds demand in a lot of ways, with the media pouring fuel on the fire, and the politicians struggling to gain recognition from the anti gun crowd, gun owners buy ammo at an incredible rate. Remington is in a large backorder position at this time, running their loaders at capacity, trying to meet demand for most calibers they produce. Still, at this time, they are looking for avenues to further increase production.
The ammunition shortage has gun store owners shocked at the persistent lack of bullets in their stores. Here at Old Glory Guns & Ammo, we are using every option to put ammo on our shelves, and we hate to limit the amount of ammo one can purchase at one time, but we have to be fair to all our customers.
We absolutely are in uncharted territory, and this demand is setting precedence. We have never seen anything like this. We have had some spot shortages and busy gun times in the past, but this is a level (of demand) never before seen. At SL gun shop, we are doing our very best at supplying ammunition to customers. Our prices have remained reasonable throughout this, and will continue to provide you the same quality service and pricing as always. Give us a call at 603-878-2854.
